An MRI scan uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to show soft tissues that ordinary X-rays cannot display well, including spinal discs, nerve roots, cartilage, ligaments and muscle. What an MRI cannot show is pain itself, which is why a scan finding must be interpreted alongside symptoms and examination findings.
A hiatal hernia is the movement of part of the stomach upward through the hiatus, the opening in the diaphragm through which the food pipe passes. Small ones are common, particularly with age, and many are found incidentally. The usual symptoms are reflux, burning behind the breastbone, and a sensation of food sticking on the way down.
Chiropractic care first is an argument about sequence rather than superiority. Conservative options are reversible; injections and surgery are not. Where both paths are reasonable, beginning with the one that can be undone costs little and can save a great deal, which is why most back pain guidelines place conservative care ahead of invasive steps.
A slipped disc in the jaw is a common way of describing displacement of the small cartilage disc inside the temporomandibular joint. The disc normally moves with the jaw as the mouth opens and closes. A click by itself is common and may not require treatment, especially when opening is comfortable and full.
Tinnitus is the perception of sound without an external source, most often described as ringing, buzzing or hissing. In the majority of cases the origin lies within the hearing system, which is why audiological assessment comes first. In a smaller group the neck or the jaw contributes, and there is a recognized marker for that subgroup.

Walking a few kilometers, carrying a bag, and getting down to the floor and back up again are the capacities that decide whether later decades are spent doing things or avoiding them.
Subluxation is a term used differently by two professions, which may be the source of most of the confusion around it. In medicine it denotes a partial dislocation of a joint, visible on imaging. In chiropractic it has traditionally described a spinal segment that is not moving in the way its neighbors do.
