A Note From Yama
When pain, stiffness, or limited movement begins to affect sleep, work, driving, exercise, or time with family, it can feel draining. It can also be difficult to know which information to trust and which type of professional to contact.
My role at Chiropractic Specialty Center® begins with listening. I assess within the scope of chiropractic, explain what may be relevant in plain language, and discuss the next steps that may be considered. When input from a registered physiotherapist, medical review, imaging, or another professional may be appropriate, that is discussed openly.
I have worked professionally in chiropractic since 1996 and have practiced in Malaysia since 2006. Alongside patient care, my work includes public education, content review, invention, product development, and the selection of practice technologies used within CSC. This page brings those roles together so you can understand the facts behind my background before deciding whether to contact us.
Important: Recommendations depend on individual assessment. No single method, device, or program is suitable for everyone, and no specific outcome can be promised.

What To Expect During A Chiropractic Assessment
I practice chiropractic. Physiotherapy at CSC is provided by registered physiotherapists. Medical care, imaging interpretation, and other regulated roles remain with the appropriately qualified professionals.
In practice I aim to:
- Listen carefully to your history, current concerns, previous care, daily activities, and goals before discussing next steps
- Explain relevant findings and options in plain language, including limits and alternatives
- Work strictly within professional scope and coordinate or refer when another discipline may be more suitable
- Use technology only when it serves a clearly considered purpose for the individual
- Encourage questions so you can make an informed decision
Chiropractic Background And Practice In Kuala Lumpur
I began professional work in chiropractic in Kansas in 1996 after receiving the Doctor of Chiropractic degree. In 2006 I relocated to Malaysia and established Chiropractic Specialty Center® and TheraMod™.
At CSC my responsibilities have included chiropractic practice, organizational direction, patient communication, team coordination, and the development of educational resources. Through TheraMod™ my work has included product development and the manufacture of selected devices.
My documented background therefore spans patient care, practice leadership, public education, and technology development. Each role is stated separately so that experience is not confused with a broader regulated title or a promise of clinical results.
Education and Malaysian Registration
The wording below identifies the issuing institution, type of credential and year. It does not turn an examination, course or historical licence into a broader present-day professional title.
Doctor of Chiropractic degree – 1996
I completed the required course of study at Cleveland University – Kansas City and received the Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree on April 26, 1996.
Additional clinical sciences coursework
During my chiropractic education I completed a 120-hour course in clinical sciences through the college’s Division of Clinical Sciences. This is documented coursework within the chiropractic program. It is not a physiotherapy degree, Malaysian physiotherapy registration, or authority to use the professional title “physiotherapist”.
National Board Examinations - 1997
He completed Parts I, II, III of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners examinations as well as the Physiotherapy NBCE board. This is recorded as examination attainment and is not expanded into a separate present-day professional title.
Kansas Chiropractic License - Historical Credential
In 1997, Yama was authorized and licensed by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts to practice chiropractic and provide physiotherapy in Kansas. This is a historical United States credential and is not presented as current Kansas license status.
Current Malaysian Registration
- Recognized practice area: Chiropractic Certificate validity: June 25, 2026 – June 24, 2027 Principal place of practice: CSC Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur
- Independent inquiries may be directed to the Ministry of Health T&CM Division at +603 2279 8100, the T&CM Council Branch at +603 2279 8181, or [email protected].
Registration confirms the recognized practice area and certificate period recorded on the current practicing certificate. It does not constitute government endorsement of any particular service, device, program, or outcome.
Innovation And Product Development
My professional record combines active chiropractic practice with documented invention and product development. This experience is included because it forms part of my documented history and because CSC may use technology connected with TheraMod™. The relevance is practical: it provides first-hand understanding of the questions that connect a practitioner, a patient, and the equipment used in a real practice environment.
Product-development work has required attention to positioning, adjustability, operator control, patient access, workflow, and device controls. That experience can add perspective when equipment is evaluated or integrated into a center. It does not replace individual assessment, scientific evidence, professional judgment, maintenance requirements, or regulatory obligations.
Technology supports care; it does not decide care. The presence of a device does not determine whether it should be used. Any decision must remain connected to the individual assessment, the device’s intended purpose, the practitioner’s scope, and relevant safeguards.
Published International Patent Application
I am named as the inventor on published international patent application WO2010120165A1, titled “Apparatus and method for treatment of back and neck ailments.”
Priority date: April 16, 2009 · Publication date: October 21, 2010
The publication documents named inventive work. It does not, by itself, establish that a patent remains in force, that a device is clinically effective for a particular person, or that an individual result will occur.
Technical and Regulatory Background
Through TheraMod™ (M) Sdn. Bhd. I have been involved in the development of selected devices used in clinical settings. Some of these devices are registered as Class A medical devices under Malaysia’s Medical Device Authority framework. Medical-device registration is a regulatory product fact. It identifies a regulated device and its manufacturer for market-placement purposes. It is not practitioner registration, government endorsement, proof of superiority, or a guarantee that a device is suitable for any particular person.
NSD Therapy® is a structured program I founded and developed for use within Chiropractic Specialty Center®. Where the program includes chiropractic, physiotherapy, or guided rehabilitation, each component is delivered by an appropriately qualified practitioner within that person’s professional scope. Suitability is considered only after individual assessment.
Commercial Transparency
I am a founder and director of both Chiropractic Specialty Center® and TheraMod™. CSC may use technologies developed through TheraMod™ as well as selected equipment from other manufacturers. This relationship is disclosed so readers can understand the organizational and commercial context.
A proprietary connection does not mean a device is automatically selected. Any decision to use or not use equipment remains connected to the individual assessment, the device’s intended purpose, the practitioner’s professional scope, and applicable regulatory requirements. Nothing on this profile states that a device, program, or method is superior, guaranteed, or appropriate for everyone.
Spine Health Content Reviewer And Author At Mychiro
At MyChiro I write and review public education content involving chiropractic, spinal anatomy, posture, ergonomics, movement, exercise, physiotherapy concepts, and rehabilitation. The review focuses on clear language, source support, professional boundaries, relevant cautions, and disclosure of commercial relationships.
This editorial role may include physiotherapy and rehabilitation topics, but it does not present me as a registered physiotherapist. Where a page depends substantially on physiotherapy-specific professional judgment, medicine, surgery, medication, pregnancy care, neurology, radiology interpretation, or another regulated area, an appropriately qualified additional reviewer should be identified.
Educational videos and articles are intended for general understanding. They cannot identify the cause of an individual’s symptoms, provide personal advice, or replace an assessment by an appropriately qualified professional.
Educational Videos & Public Learning
These videos explain common spinal terms, symptom patterns and questions patients often ask. They are provided for general education and do not diagnose the viewer or determine which form of care may be suitable.
Selected educational videos are available on the MyChiro video library and the Chiropractic Specialty Center® YouTube channel.

Coordinated Chiropractic And Spine Care In Bukit Damansara
Chiropractic Specialty Center® brings chiropractic, physiotherapy provided by registered physiotherapists, exercise, and rehabilitation under one organization. These are distinct professional roles. Each component is delivered by a practitioner who is appropriately qualified for that role.
I practice chiropractic and help direct the wider CSC environment. I am not presented as a registered physiotherapist or medical practitioner. Depending on the individual assessment, a person may be directed toward one discipline, more than one discipline, or another professional outside CSC.
