The Webster technique is a pelvic assessment and adjustment used during pregnancy. It examines the sacrum, the joints of the pelvis and the surrounding soft tissue, and aims to reduce the mechanical strain a pregnant pelvis carries. Stating that plainly matters, because the technique is frequently described as something broader.
A pregnancy chiropractor works mainly on the pelvis and the lower back, because that is where pregnancy alters the load. Positioning is adapted as pregnancy advances, with side-lying and supported positions replacing lying face down, and techniques are selected for joints that are already more mobile than usual.
Round ligament pain is a common pregnancy-related pain linked to stretching of the round ligaments that support the uterus. It is often felt as a brief, sharp or pulling sensation low in the abdomen or groin, particularly during the second trimester and during quick changes of position such as standing, rolling in bed, coughing or sneezing.
Pregnancy pain covers a wide range, and sorting it is the first useful step. Mechanical aches change with position and movement: worse when turning in bed, standing on one leg, or after a long day, and relieved by a change of position within a minute or two.
Prenatal and postpartum care addresses the musculoskeletal changes that occur during pregnancy and after birth. During pregnancy, the center of mass shifts, the abdominal wall stretches and pelvic tissues adapt to increasing load. Useful care begins by separating common mechanical symptoms from signs that need obstetric or medical review.
Back pain care at CSC does not involve cracking the back; nothing is twisted to make a joint pop. Movement is restored instead through table-based techniques such as flexion-distraction and through instruments that deliver a small, fast impulse to one segment at a time, alongside the exercise that holds the change.
A Schmorl's node is a small indentation where disc material has pressed upward or downward through the endplate into the body of the vertebra next to it. They appear in a large proportion of ordinary spines, frequently in people with no symptoms, and they are most often reported on imaging taken for an unrelated reason.
